| Three Pools, One Team |
| DBS Levels Defined Senior II 9 workouts per week - 5 afternoon and 4 mornings. The Senior team consists of swimmers, generally 13 & up who have demonstrated a high level of swimming and workout ability. The Senior Team competes at the Junior Olympic and State Championship level. Senior I 9 - 11 workouts per week. The National Team consists of those competitors who have demonstrated a skill level commensurate with that needed to compete at the Speedo Championship Series, the Phillips 66 / Senior National Championships and the Olympic Trials Gold 5 days per week - 1 ½ hours each day (Mon - Fri). Emphasis on endurance and perfecting stroke techniques. Swimmers are encouraged to attend all team designated meets and set goals for practice and competition. Criteria for level advancement Silver to Gold Advancement Testing 3 X 200 IM's no DQ and no time 10 X 100's - 5 on 1:50 and 5 on 1:45 8 X 50's IM order on 1:00 Silver Monday through Friday - 1 hour per day. Emphasis on stroke technique, goals and beginning competition. Criteria for level advancement Bronze to Silver Advancement Testing 1 X 100 IM no DQ no time 10 X 50's on 1:10 8 X 25's IM order on 40 Bronze 3 days per week - 1 hour each day (Mon, Wed, Fri.). Intro to strokes build endurance, intro to low-level competition. Bronze - must be able to swim 25 yards (one length of the pool) |
